About Us

Who is Hettie Reed?

Hettie Reed is a blended name derived from the first name of Sandra's grandmother, Hettie Pearl, and the last name of Kris's grandmother, Alice Reed. Our grandmas lived in a time where spending cherished moments with loved ones meant more than any "store-bought" gift ever could, a time before we ordered gifts and mere hours later they showed up at our doors.

It's not always possible to spend as much time with loved ones as we'd like, which made us ponder: how do you choose a gift that conveys the love you have for people you don't see often enough? A gift should say "I was thinking of YOU when I picked this up." It should emphasize the amount of thought you put into it, not the money that exchanged hands. Personal gifts, like the laser-engraved, customized items you'll find on this site, are the thoughtful gifts that people remember long after the gift wrap has been tossed. Yes, we know, some people are just impossible to buy for! And that's why we also offer items like our gift card holders, which double as Christmas ornaments!

We also love giving back to our communities, something we've remained passionate about with our Sips n Strokes studios in the Atlanta area for over a decade. So you'll also see items in our catalog that can be used as fundraisers for local schools and churches, and - of course - for local pets in need. You'll see a lot more of those types of items in the coming months.

We encourage you to support small businesses as you buy gifts for those you love...if not our small business, someone else's. We really mean that. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our country. We're the ones who donate when there's a fundraiser for a local family in need. We put our hearts and souls into our businesses. We employ your neighbors. Heck, we ARE your neighbors. We hope as the holiday season approaches that you'll have the opportunity to spend precious time with those you love. It's better than anything money can buy. But when you do spend your money, consider buying local. And go see your grandma!
